The security spokesman for Germany’s main opposition party, the CDU, Roderich Kiesewetter, believes that Germany, as the country with the largest economy in the EU, should participate in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine if one is formed after the end of the war.

This was reported by the Schwäbische Zeitung , writes “European Truth”.

Kiesewetter emphasized that as the country with the strongest economy in Europe, Germany must be ready to make a major contribution to peacekeeping and the European security architecture.

In his opinion, Germany is obliged to intervene in the situation in Ukraine “at the appropriate time with well-equipped troops,” and it would be reckless to rule out such an option.

At the same time, according to him, the involvement of German peacekeepers should take place within the framework of joint actions of the EU and NATO.

“Peacekeeping forces are effective and realistic given our limited material and human resources in Europe if peacekeeping can be integrated into the European and transatlantic security architecture and thus into NATO, as the nuclear umbrella would then extend to Ukraine,” Kiesewetter said.

A majority of Germans, 54%, would support the deployment of international peacekeeping forces in Ukraine if a ceasefire is reached, according to a Yougov poll. However, only 23% support the deployment of German soldiers – 33% do not want to see them in Ukraine.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelensky admitted that at meetings in Brussels in December, the idea of deploying a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine was discussed as one of the safeguards against a new Russian attack, and said that he was already “seeing positives” from some leaders.

  1. “…the involvement of German peacekeepers should take place within the framework of joint actions of the EU and NATO.”

Scholz doesn’t even want this. With leaders like him, the free world cannot stop rogue entities from doing their evil work.

A few days ago, I spoke with some friends in Germany. They told me something I already knew; the German press largely ignores the war in Ukraine. There are times, when my friends even thought that the war might be over!
Don’t ask me how Western media – and various Western governments – can be so completely irresponsible and reckless about a war that can spill over at any moment, and/or WILL continue elsewhere in Europe, should Ukraine lose. As I’ve said numerous times before, too many pretend that this war is in some far-away, unimportant place on this globe … Africa, the Far East, or whatever.
Thus, the people in Germany are being kept largely quite ignorant about this war, and so it’s no wonder we see such poll results.
