The Russian “Gazprom” has reduced the supply of natural gas to Moldova by 30%.
This was stated by the director of the gas company “Moldovagaz” Vadim Cheban, reports Reuters .
Deliveries are reduced from 1 October.
Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Andrei Spinu said that technical problems are behind the reduction in supplies, and the country will ask Gazprom to increase supplies.
“The reason for the reduction in gas supplies … was explained by Gazprom too late,” Spinu said, adding that technical problems cannot be considered an “objective cause.”
He also noted that Moldova has about 53.5 million cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities in Ukraine and Romania, which can be used.
