All G7 leaders were briefed on the Ukrainian operation in the Moscow region. They supported Ukraine’s response to Russian aggression.

“The entire G7 during the summit knew about our operation in the Moscow region, had already seen the result and supported Ukraine’s absolutely fair, adequate responses. In my opinion, this was the first time that the G7 had unitedly supported Ukraine. They said that we needed to return to a stronger sanctions policy against Russia. On the eve of this, there was a massive shelling of Kyiv, when not only our Christian shrine was damaged. I showed photos of the Lavra and not only. Everyone saw how the Assumption Cathedral burned. They knew about the victims,” the head of state said.
Licenses for the production of air defense systems
In addition, Zelensky recalled that after the G7 meeting, he discussed additional issues with US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. In particular, the issue was the return of sanctions against Russia and the granting of licenses to Ukraine for the production of air defense systems.
“This time it has become quite public – that the American team has for the first time responded positively to licenses. Everyone agrees that today we have all the technical capabilities to start producing missiles for Patriot systems. This requires licenses from the United States. Now we need an OK personally from President Trump. President Trump plans to contact American defense companies with a request that they produce missiles for air defense under licenses in Europe and Ukraine,” the president added.
