Satellite imagery has indicated that at least two fuel storage tanks have caught fire following a Ukrainian drone attack on the Perm oil pumping station in Russia’s Perm Krai

Details: Satellite images show that at least two fuel tanks are engulfed in flames.

Exilenova+ reported visual confirmation of a fire affecting two to three tanks at the Perm linear production and dispatch station.

Each such tank can hold up to 50,000 cubic metres of oil, which is approximately 314,000 barrels or more than US$37 million at current prices.

Total direct losses could reach US$75-112 million, excluding infrastructure damage and the suspension of pumping operations.

Background:

• Drones operated by the Special Operations Centre Alpha, part of the Security Service of Ukraine, struck the Perm linear production and dispatch station on the night of 28-29 April, located more than 1,500 km from the border with Ukraine.
• Ukrainian forces struck Russian air defence assets, radar systems, logistics facilities and UAV command posts on 28 April and on the night of 28-29 April in Russia’s Kursk Oblast and in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk oblasts.
