FT: The Kremlin told Macron’s advisers who suggested involving Europe in Ukraine talks to go to hell

15 March 2026

During a February trip to Moscow, French presidential advisers Emmanuel Bonne and Bertrand Buchwalter encountered a blunt Kremlin refusal to allow Europe to participate in Ukraine negotiations, sources told the Financial Times. According to them, Emmanuel Macron’s envoys stated that the EU would not support a ceasefire agreement unless it participated in its discussions, as the security of the entire region was at stake. However, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov rudely and obscenely rejected attempts to reach an agreement. According to a senior European diplomat, Ushakov’s response was: “Sorry, actually no, go f*** yourself.”

Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed to the publication that the two sides had failed to find common ground. “The Europeans don’t want to contribute to the peace process. When the French representative arrived, he didn’t bring any positive signals, so he really had nothing positive to hear in return,” he stated. Peskov also accused the Europeans of “spending all their efforts on convincing the Ukrainians to continue the war.”

Meanwhile, FT sources noted that the peace process in Ukraine has effectively stalled, in part because the US has shifted its focus to the military operation against Iran. The last round of trilateral consultations took place in Geneva on February 17–18. The next meeting, scheduled for March 5 in Abu Dhabi, was postponed due to hostilities in the Middle East, and a new date for the talks has not yet been set.

“The Ukraine negotiations are in serious jeopardy,” a senior European official stated. According to him, US President Donald Trump has begun to lose interest in mediation, and the war in Iran has not only eased the pressure on Russia but even benefited the Kremlin due to rising oil prices, the suspension of US sanctions, and the rapid depletion of the Pentagon’s arsenal, which is affecting arms supplies to Ukraine.

  1. The bottom line: Europe is still not growing up to be independent of the United States. Their cowardice, weakness, and disunity will never put any fear into the mafia state.

  2. Mafia land are hardly in a position to tell other countries to go fuck themselves. Do they realise they are getting smashed?
