FSO lieutenant colonel committed suicide in Moscow

The lieutenant colonel of the Federal Security Service (FSO) committed suicide in Moscow, a source in the security forces told RIA Novosti.

According to him, the body of the lieutenant colonel was found on the morning of December 21 on Zander Street. At home they found a suicide note, added the agency’s source.

According  to a TASS source, the officer said in the note that he “took his own life for personal reasons not related to the service.” The Moscow Investigative Committee began a pre-investigation check.

At the end of November 2020, an FSO officer committed suicide while on duty in the Kremlin.

According to Baza, his name was Mikhail Zakharov, the reason for the suicide “could have been the indifferent attitude of the FSO leadership to the conditions of his work, as well as numerous overhauls.” According to the source of the publication, Zakharov committed suicide after he was told that “he will be forced to go to the service for the ninth day in a row.”
