The consul of the Consulate General of Ukraine in St. Petersburg, Alexander Sosonyuk, was detained. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Public Relations Center (DSP) of the FSB.
The Ukrainian consul was detained on April 16 during a meeting with a Russian citizen “upon receiving information of a classified nature contained in the databases of law enforcement agencies and the FSB.”
“This activity is incompatible with the status of a diplomatic worker and has a clear hostile nature towards the Russian Federation,” the FSB said.
The detained consul will be subjected to measures “in accordance with the norms of international law, ” the FSB said.
At the end of March, the conflict between official Kiev and the unrecognized DPR and LPR escalated. Russia began to build up troops at the Ukrainian border. According to the Ukrainian authorities, Moscow has drawn 40,000 troops there.
The Ukrainian authorities accused Russia of aggravating the situation in the region. The leaders of the United States and Germany called on Moscow to withdraw troops from the Ukrainian border. Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the movement of Russian troops does not threaten anyone.
Against the background of aggravation in Donbass, US President Joe Biden phoned Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky for the first time and invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet.

Which means he’ll be tortured, then forced to sign a statement saying he is a Ukrainian spy. If this is the way it’s going to be, arrest all Russian diplomats in Ukraine, and charge them with stealing Ukrainian air.
If they act IAW international law, he will be swiftly expelled. That is the only thing they can do with a diplomat.
I find it rather quaint that Putin’s regime has rediscovered international law.
It is time for Ukraine to withdraw all its diplomats from mafia land and to throw out mafia diplomats. There is nothing to gain by holding diplomatic relations with a Nazi crime syndicate.
