Only 9% of Odessa residents rate waste removal services well, another 50% speak rather positively about them. For comparison, in Kharkov, where residents are forced to endure enemy rocket attacks and bombings every day, 46% of citizens are satisfied with the quality of garbage removal, and another 39% speak rather positively about it.

These are the results of a recent municipal opinion poll published by the International Republican Institute.
Similar results for many other indicators. For example, in Kharkov, as in Vinnitsa, 28% of citizens are completely satisfied with public transport services. In Odessa there are only 7% of them.
6% of citizens are completely satisfied with the quality of roads in Vinnitsa, 5% in Kharkov, and only 1% in Odessa.
Medical institutions in Kharkov fully satisfy 10% of the city’s population, while in Odessa only 4%.
22% of Kharkov residents said that they are completely satisfied with the water supply in the city, and in Odessa this figure is at 10%. 10% of local residents are completely satisfied with the ecology of Kharkov, and 4% in Odessa.
22% of respondents are completely satisfied with the heating of houses in Kharkov, and 12% in Odessa. Gas supply in Kharkov is also at a much better level. 34% of respondents are satisfied with it, while in Odessa 16%.
In general, 26% of Kharkov residents are completely satisfied with the work of local authorities. This is also the highest figure in the country. In Odessa – only 4%. 47% of Kharkov residents fully support Mayor Igor Terekhov and 65% of respondents would like to re-elect him for a new term. In Odessa, 11% of citizens are completely satisfied with the activities of Mayor Gennady Trukhanov and 35% would like to elect him to office again.
45% of Odessa residents said that they associate the word “corrupt” with the work of city authorities. This is the second indicator in the country, we are only surpassed by Zaporozhye, where 53% of city residents suspect city council employees of bribery.
Let us note that Odessa residents generally do not have a very positive assessment of the situation in the city and the country. Only 44% said things in the city were going in the right direction, while 37% said they were not. For comparison, in Kharkov, 62% of respondents have a positive view of the future of the city, and only 22% are pessimistic.
Odessa residents also found themselves at the very bottom in the ranking of assessments of the future of Ukraine. 61% see it as positive, while 26% doubt good prospects. For comparison, in Ivano-Frankivsk sentiments were distributed at 77% and 14%, respectively.
