French PM Says Putin, Trump Form ‘Incredible’ Alliance

There are signs of an alliance emerging between US President Donald Trump and Russian ruler Vladimir Putin, French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou has expressed concern, BFMTV reports .

“We are witnessing an incredible alliance between Putin and Trump that is marginalizing Europe on its own territory,” he said.

According to Bayrou, “it is terrible to see the weakness of the European Union” on this issue.

He added that a recent meeting at the Elysee Museum with several European leaders to discuss Ukraine and security on the continent “did not dispel” fears:

“We are in the context of the 1930s, when icebergs are coming towards us, and the Paris meeting at the Elysee Palace did not allow them to push off.”
