She stressed that the allies must support “a holistic, just and lasting peace for Ukraine.”

According to EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, freezing the Russian war against Ukraine is not a solution, it is a recipe for future wars. She stated this while speaking at the peace summit in Switzerland .

“Freezing the conflict today, when foreign troops occupy the territory of Ukraine, is not a solution. In fact, it is a recipe for future wars of aggression,” she said.

Instead, the head of the European Commission emphasized, the allies must support “a holistic, fair and lasting peace for Ukraine.”

“One that will restore Ukrainian sovereignty, territorial integrity and the inviolability of all borders. The sovereignty of all states is what is at stake,” she emphasized.

Peace Summit on Ukraine – statements

Swiss President Viola Amherd, opening the meeting of the Global Peace Summit on June 15, said that “a peace process without Russia is unthinkable . ”

And Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called on the countries participating in the peace summit in Switzerland to actively work on the Peace Formula in order to fix the real end of the war at the next peace summit .

  1. I don’t like her – imho she’s a self aggrandizing poser, not a leader – but at least she says the right things. And her commission’s support for Ukraine ain’t so bad. It’s much more the political system of the EU and obstructionists like Orban and Fico which are the problems. 😕
