
France is ready to provide Ukraine with financial assistance in the amount of 300 million euros in the coming days.
This was announced by French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian during a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba on Thursday, Interfax-Ukraine reports citing the press service of the French Foreign Ministry.
“The Minister confirmed the allocation of a package of financial assistance of 300 million euros in the coming days in accordance with the commitments of the President of the Republic (Emmanuel Macron), given to the President (Vladimir) Zelensky,” the French Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry also stressed that Le Drian and Kuleba had a detailed discussion of Ukraine’s support for France together with its partners in the context of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
The French Foreign Minister assured his interlocutor that the French side would continue its efforts at the EU level to increase sanctions on Russia.
As reported, in early February, the President’s Office announced that the French Republic would provide Ukraine with a loan of 200 million euros , as well as financial guarantees of 1 billion euros for the purchase of French equipment.
In addition, in early March, the French government decided to provide Ukraine and neighboring countries with 100 million euros in aid.
