In France, medical staff are preparing for the possible reception of a large number of patients from the war zone.
The French government has given clear instructions to hospitals across the country to prepare for a “major collision” scenario by March 2026, writes Le Figaro.

Regional health agencies (ARS) have received official instructions from the French government on preparing medical staff for the possible reception of large numbers of patients from the war zone.
According to the plan, France could become a logistics base for receiving wounded soldiers: both French and foreign.
The training of doctors was initiated by the Ministry of Health at the request of the General Secretariat for Defense and National Security. It is scheduled to be completed by March 2026.
As part of this process, it is planned to create specialized medical centers capable of receiving up to 250 victims per day during peak periods. Civilian hospitals should also be ready to serve from 100,000 to 500,000 people for 180 days.
“This is work that we have been doing for one or two years. There is nothing extraordinary. We are expecting scenarios that could surprise us if we do not work them out in advance, including the possibility of a conflict, not necessarily where France is directly attacked, but which could have consequences here, in the sense that we will have to receive wounded people from our country or from allied countries,” explained Catherine Bertrand, president of the French Society of Disaster Medicine.
It is indicated that the document also provides for the possibility of mobilizing all medical workers in the country, regardless of their specialization.
If active fighting occurs, eight military hospitals will have to free up space for wounded French soldiers. Civilian patients, including oncology patients, are planned to be transferred to regular hospitals. According to the publication, these measures are part of France’s strategic preparation for a large-scale conflict.
It is explained that such actions by the French government are related to the recently updated doctrine “National Strategic Review – 2025”, which assumes that by 2030 there is a high risk of a major armed conflict in Europe involving France and its allies.
