On June 17, the European Commission will announce its conclusion on Ukraine’s application for membership in the European Union.

France , Germany, Romania and Italy support granting Ukraine candidate status for EU membership.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, French President Emmanuel Macron said this at a joint briefing with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“We want to confirm by actions that Ukraine is part of the European family,” Macron said.
According to him, tomorrow the European Commission will publish a conclusion, and next week the European Council will decide on Ukraine’s European perspective.
“And all four of us support granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership. This status is tied to the road map, but it can develop in the context of the neighborhood policy and the neighborhood policy towards Moldova. We hope that this decision will be taken unanimously at the European advice,” he said.
Macron added that the EU accession process will take some time, but concrete action is needed today.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on February 28, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed an application for Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.
On June 17, the European Commission will announce its conclusion on Ukraine’s application for membership in the European Union. The decision of the European Council on granting candidate status to Ukraine is expected on June 23-24.
