France has frozen the assets of the Central Bank of Russia in the amount of 22 billion euros, as well as the accounts of individuals for 150 million euros.

This was announced by the country’s Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire, RTL and TF1 write .

“We froze the assets of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in the amount of 22 billion euros. We also froze funds in the accounts of individuals in French institutions in the amount of 150 million euros,” he said.

According to Le Maire, France has frozen on its territory real estate worth 539 million euros, which belong to about 30 Russians. It is also reported about the arrest of two yachts worth 150 million euros.

“In general, since the creation of a special working group, we have been able to identify and freeze the assets of Russian oligarchs totaling 850 million euros,” Le Maire said.

The Minister specified that these assets were frozen but not seized. However, their owners cannot use, resell or monetize them.
