The Russian government has nominated former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl to the board of directors of Rosneft as an independent director. The corresponding order has been published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
In addition to Kneissl, the government has nominated former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as independent members of the Rosneft board of directors. He now serves as chairman of the company’s board of directors.
Karin Kneissl served as Austrian Foreign Minister from December 2017 to June 2019. In 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at the invitation of Kneissl, made a private visit to her wedding, where he danced with the bride.
