“Orlan-10” is an extremely dangerous drone.

Anti-aircraft gunners of the 3rd Separate Tank Iron Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down the Russian ” Orlan ” UAV at a great height in a sky duel for the first time and showed a video.

“This news takes my breath away. The Iron Brigade shot down a high-altitude Russian drone for the first time in a sky duel! It happened on September 7 over the Kharkiv region. An enemy UAV “Orlan-10” was just detected, and the “Vron” group of the anti-aircraft missile and artillery division rushed to the given area. – said the military.

It is said that in cooperation with fellow border guards, the tankers determined the course and height of the target. On the spot, one soldier prepared the equipment for work, then two more members of the crew of hunters for the reconnaissance “wings” of the occupation troops came into action.

The military said that the hunt was extremely difficult. Firstly, the height is more than three kilometers, secondly, “Orlan” constantly changed direction and height.

“But thanks to the skill and coordinated actions of the “Crow” group, the reconnaissance drone was caught at an altitude of 3,620 meters and destroyed,” the message reads.

“Orlan-10” – what is known

The brigade reminded that “Orlan-10” is an extremely dangerous drone. It can fly 600 kilometers, climb 5 kilometers, and its radius of action is 120 kilometers.

The drone detects targets and adjusts fire, intercepts radio communications, blocks mobile communications, “breaks” the GPS signal, drops ammunition from a low altitude, etc.

In the summer, social networks were flooded with photos of the downed Russian Mi-8 helicopter . The biggest surprise was that it was destroyed by a cheap, small drone of the Armed Forces. As The Economist writes, at first it was unclear whether this was a lucky hit or signs of a breakthrough in the air war.

There have already been cases of the destruction of a helicopter by a drone. In May 2022, a Bayraktar TB2 fired a missile to destroy a Russian transport helicopter on Snake Island. However, back then it was a machine that looked like a small plane, and now the Armed Forces destroy targets with small FPV drones, most of which weigh less than 1 kg. The Economist analyzed all these events and came to the conclusion that “the Ukrainians have a certain breakthrough in the air war.

  1. Russian Repairs Insufficient as Crimean Bridge Parts Begin to Collapse

Ukrainian partisans from the Atesh group claim that the condition of the Crimean Bridge is deteriorating significantly, raising concerns about its structural integrity.

Photos shared by the group depict crumbling elements of the bridge, according to WP

    Urgent Repairs Needed
Spanning 18 kilometers, the Crimean Bridge is a crucial logistical link between the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula and the Taman Peninsula.

It plays a vital role in supporting Russian military operations in the region. However, according to Atesh, urgent repairs are needed as various structural components of the bridge begin to fall apart.

“The Crimean Bridge is living its final days,” a representative from Atesh stated. “Due to ongoing damage, the structural elements are degrading, leading to the collapse of certain parts. The attitude toward its condition is increasingly dismissive, with little attention being paid to its state.”

    Strikes in Area Around Bridge
The damage has been exacerbated by multiple strikes from Ukrainian forces targeting the area around the bridge.

Partisans note that recently there has been a decrease in the number of air defense systems protecting the structure, making it more vulnerable. However, Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk has not confirmed these claims.

Despite the reported decrease in defensive measures, experts assert that Russia is utilizing a full array of air defense systems, including the advanced S-500, S-400, S-300, and Pancyr-S1. These systems are critical components of Russia’s air defense strategy, designed to intercept various aerial threats, from drones to ballistic missiles.

  2. If the AFU can do this sort of thing on a regular basis, this could be a decisive development, basically blinding the cockroaches.
