The EU is already preparing sanctions against China.
China first supplied weapons to Russia for use against Ukraine, and now the European Union is considering sanctions. As the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung writes with reference to its sources, the relevant intelligence data was provided to the EU states by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
As one high-ranking EU diplomat said, this evidence is “convincing” and confirms the “supply of lethal aid”.
“We need to consider all possible measures now,” the diplomat said. At the same time, he added that it is important to talk directly with China. Another source noted that Europe’s reaction will depend on how China reacts to this information. The discussion of sanctions is now at an early stage, the interlocutors of the publication added.
At the same time, although the sources did not disclose the details of the intelligence data, the high-ranking diplomat referred to the “very serious” reports of the Reuters agency.
