While additional air defense is rolling through the streets of Moscow and creating a television picture, a real fireworks display took place in Cheboksary, writes Kirill Danilchenko for LB.ua.
In principle, the logic is ironclad: what happened 70 years ago in our grandfathers’ time has more impact on the current situation on the front than anything else. And if the Kremlin chooses a grand show, then we are interested in continuing to work on their military-industrial complex.
This is the fifth wave of attacks since the summer of 2025 on the VNDIR-Progress JSC enterprise, but this time they used Flamingo cruise missiles, whereas previously they worked exclusively with drones.
Long arm lock
The fifth approach to a strategically important enterprise that produces Comet navigation modules and satellite signal receivers directly blocks the scaling of the enemy’s long arm.
The video clearly shows that the administrative building is on fire, and a powerful explosion occurred directly in the area of the Comet adaptive array workshop. It is these boards that allow Russian products (from Shahed to UMPK) to ignore our electronic warfare and resist it.

I think that communications, pipes, delicate electrical equipment, microelectronics machines, and cranes in the area up to 150 meters have become very bad.
Anyone who doesn’t believe in the density of the damage can look at what the blast wave did to the facade of the giant MTV Center shopping mall opposite the plant.
The ridiculous stories about “just one hit” by the Flamingo, which are currently being shared by the alternatively gifted on Facebook , mean that the enemy is in critical pain, and we are in an internal war over budgets and orders around these missiles.
Let’s throw away our illusions: neither the elongated Neptune nor our other serial means of delivery to Cheboksary (1,000 km away) and the Iskander assembly shops have yet to reach it. And ballistics has yet to go beyond pre-series test batches.
It’s not fast, even with EU money and resources — the first European countries are still increasing the annual production of the same Storm Shadows they mastered back in the 2000s by 30–40%, not by hundreds of units.
“Flamingo”: geography and loss figures
To date, we have at least seven successful and proven applications of this product.
- FSB border post near Armyansk: Direct hit on headquarters and hovercraft parking lot. Communications hub, antenna control group destroyed, and watercraft damaged. Damage in the millions of dollars, temporary loss of coordination in the area.
- Kapustin Yar Test Site (Astrakhan Region): Workshop No. 28 (missile assembly and testing base) and boiler room of facility No. 105 were hit. The schedule for testing new missile systems was disrupted.
- Arsenal GRAU (Kotluban): A jewel-like breakthrough of a reinforced concrete bunker with an area of 1200 m2. The large-scale detonation vaporized thousands of tons of ammunition. This is tens of millions of dollars of direct damage due to shells that did not reach the enemy artillery at the front.
- Votkinsky Plant (Udmurtia): A strike on a strategic enterprise producing strategic ballistics. Workshop No. 22 (galvanic and stamping production) was hit. Result: direct braking of the assembly line for the production of new Iskanders.
- Promsintez Chemical Plant (Chapayevsk): Two “gingerbread men” flew right under the walls of workshop No. 3. The production of industrial explosives and ammunition components has been paralyzed.
- “Skif” plant (Belgorod): Direct hit on production site. According to satellite data, the roof and ceilings that were blown away have not been repaired yet.
- VNIIR “Progress” (Cheboksary): Minus of the navigation department.
Of course, not 100% of what is produced is used in wheels – there are still some waste products.
But anyone who believes that two warheads (equivalent to a FAB-500) near shop No. 3 in Chapayevsk twenty meters away or hitting the FSB headquarters is a miss should remember the continuous damage zone in the ton head.
After that, it’s enough to open the Samara region’s job sites: the Promsintez plant is currently frantically looking for welders, repairmen, and electricians. We decided to weld some synthesis pipes and paint the walls after arrival.
Maybe then something will reach the rocket specialists on the network, but that’s not accurate.
Fire in the Baltics: A blow to KINEF
In parallel, there were reports of strikes on the KINEF oil refinery in the Leningrad region on May 5, 2026. It is too early to speak about the final damage, but, according to thermal anomaly maps ( FIRMS ), a huge red-orange fire spot is located right in the heart of the plant’s technological zone.
This is the area of primary oil processing plants (such as ELOU-AVT), cracking and complex technological columns. They hit not the fuel oil tanks, which can be quickly extinguished, but the most expensive iron. We will see exactly when there is a clear satellite and normal weather over the facility, but for now – they hit very qualitatively. A fire that is constantly intensifying in such an area always indicates the destruction of the technological cycle.
Hysteria in response: Syrian tactics
The enemy responded massively: 11 Iskander-M ballistic missiles were fired at Cherkasy, Zaporizhia, Vyshgorod district of Kyiv region, Poltava region and Kharkiv. Some missed, some hit hard. The targets were industrial enterprises, gas production, warehouses.
In Poltava region, the Russians have again used the Syrian double-tap tactic — a ballistic strike on an object, and when the State Emergency Service arrives to extinguish the fire, they hit it with a cassette indiscriminately. This was also the case recently in Dnipro. We have killed and wounded rescuers.
I think they hit another bank of targets that they had at that time: at 2:58 a.m. they flew over Cheboksary, at 3:15 a.m. they flew over Cherkasy. Probably, another battery just fired. It wasn’t a carefully planned missile strike — it’s more like a hysterical reaction, because 164 UAVs don’t look like a planned major attack.
And this does not mean that we do not need to work in Cheboksary, it means that we need to be ready to respond, take cover and disperse.
***
So far, the situation before the parade in Moscow is clear: if the Russians want to hold it calmly, without drones that, under the influence of electronic warfare, joyfully fly into houses on Mosfilmovskaya Street, then they will follow our unspoken regime of silence.
If not, it would be ideal to send a maximum of false targets and simulator drones to Moscow to exhaust the air defense missiles, and in the meantime work on military chemicals, refineries and military-industrial complex plants. Let there be intrigue for the Russian air defense: where to run and what to protect – oil in Tuapse, electronics in Cheboksary or dachas on Rublyovka.
Russian insurance agencies estimate losses last year in the oil and gas sector alone at a trillion rubles. A good figure, and most importantly, stable. Minus one trillion from the oil sector, another trillion from forced payments for new cannon fodder contracts, three and a half trillion from new debts of the regions.
The Russian economy is collapsing and burning out much faster than they take over Little Tokmachka, and this math is becoming obvious even to the last Zetnik. There are difficult decisions ahead and a redistribution of the pie in favor of military Keynesianism, I don’t think. later than in the fall.
