An air defense system was activated in Belgorod and the Belgorod region. As a result of a shell hitting a passenger car, one person was killed, the region’s governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported.
According to Gladkov, several air targets were shot down as they approached the city. In Belgorod, shells hit an apartment building, several commercial facilities and a car. Seven civilians were injured in the shelling, Gladkov said.
According to the local Telegram channel “Pepel”, the missile hit the technical floor of the house on Shchorsa Street. The Telegram channel, based on the nature of the damage to the house, suggests that Belgorod was shelled with 122-mm shells using the Grad system.
The Telegram channel “Belgorod No. 1” also reports on damage to the house on Shchorsa Street. The Telegram channel “Zhest Belgorod” reported on a burning car in the area of Yesenina Street and a fire in the area of the City Mall shopping center.
In the Belgorod region, in the village of Dubovoye, two private houses also caught fire, Gladkov reported.
