Fires broke out, tanker damaged: data on the consequences of the drone attack on the port of Tuapse has emerged

On the night of November 2, kamikaze drones attacked the city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. The operation damaged Rosneft’s deep-water berths for loading petroleum products.

In addition, one of the tankers, which was in the port at the time of the attack, was damaged. This was reported by the monitoring Telegram channel “Crimean Wind”.

Consequences of the attack

According to eyewitnesses, after a UAV raid on Tuapse, Krasnodar Territory, severe fires broke out at berths 1A and 1B, which the Russian occupiers use to load oil products onto tankers.

In addition, NASA satellite images confirm that a severe fire broke out directly on the sector of an infrastructure facility that the Russians use for loading and transporting petroleum products.

Witnesses also claim that in addition to the pier itself, the tanker itself is on fire. The vessel for transporting oil products was standing near the pier, which became the target of the UAV attack.

What is known about the object?

The deep-water berth was put into operation in 2013, with the capacity to handle up to 7 million tons per year. The berth in Tuapse is capable of receiving vessels up to 250 m long and with a draft of up to 15 meters.

Monitoring channels indicate that the UAV hit the central cargo overpass, which is the main hub for transshipment of oil and dark petroleum products between the terminal’s shore tanks and tankers.

It later became known that a Liberian tanker was probably hit in the port of Tuapse near the oil terminal. The vessel CHAI (IMO 9275402, MMSI 636012196) under the Liberian flag has been in the port of Tuapse since October 28, periodically turning on and off its transponder and moving in the water area.

That night, the tanker was moored near the Rosneft oil terminal, which was hit. Krasnodar Region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that “the oil terminal and tanker were damaged as a result of the falling debris from the UAV.”

The occupiers acknowledged the consequences of the attack

The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory announced that an oil tanker was damaged in Tuapse . At the same time, the Russians claimed that the object caught fire “as a result of falling debris from a UAV.”

“The deck superstructure was damaged. The tanker crew was evacuated. A fire broke out on the vessel. The terminal building and infrastructure were also damaged. In addition, the glazing in the railway station building was damaged. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Operational and emergency services are working at the scene,” the statement from the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory says.

As a reminder, in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian military intelligence conducted a successful special operation to “deneftify” the aggressor state. The most important military facility of the Russian Federation – the Ring oil pipeline – was put out of action.

As OBOZ.UA reported, on October 31, the Ukrainian Navy launched a missile strike on Russian energy facilities – the Oryol CHPP and the Novobryansk electrical substation. According to the Navy, these facilities supplied energy to military enterprises in the region.

  1. Attacking port facilities is also not a bad strategy. All the oil in the world won’t do the cockroaches any good if they can’t ship the crap.
