Finland on Russian strike on Bucha district: “terrible flashback” to March 2022

Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has commented on a Russian attack on Bucha district, Kyiv Oblast, which killed at least 37 people.

Details: Valtonen said the strike is a “terrible flashback to March 2022 and the Bucha massacre “.

Background:

  • Powerful explosions were heard in the Bucha district in Kyiv Oblast on the evening of 28 August. A warehouse facility caught fire, and all traffic was blocked in both directions on the M-06 Kyiv-Chop road between kilometres 15 and 32.
  • Local authorities reported that the death toll from the Russian attack and subsequent detonation in Kyiv Oblast’s Bucha district has risen to 37, while another 42 people were injured.
