While Trump is actively building an alternative UN, the main advantage of which should be that it is not the same as what already exists, Europe, as Politico reports, is already thinking about an alternative NATO.
Everything points to the fact that it will be created on the basis of the well-known “coalition of the willing” (by the way, currently very effective), that is, without the unforeseen States, and by the way – without Hungary and Slovakia, which are hindering NATO’s activities.
The coalition members have developed a fairly high level of trust thanks to constant practical and rapid contacts between the leaders of the countries, as well as between national security advisors.
At the same time, some cooperation with the US is also not ruled out – of course, if the American side so desires.
The leading locomotives of the potential alliance are Ukraine, the most militarized and experienced in Europe, nuclear-armed Great Britain and France, as well as Poland, which is geographically forced to be active.
In total, the coalition, which could thus become a real military bloc, includes 35 countries, including Ukraine, including those far from Europe: NATO member Canada plus Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
Compared to NATO, Austria, Ireland, and Cyprus are also present, but North Macedonia is absent.
So, the main drawback is the lack of a guarantee of full participation of the US, but this is more than compensated by the absence of destructive Orban and Fico (the entry of the relevant countries without them will, of course, be open), as well as the main advantage – the presence of Ukraine.

I think every sane American can understand Europe’s position. It’s not Europe that started this mess. And where was Congress? Where was the Supreme Court? We let Taco do as he pleases. It’s our fault.
The damage is already done to our relationship and fixing it will take a lot of time. Europe must move forward, now. If this war weren’t raging in Ukraine, then such a move wouldn’t be nearly as important and urgent.
