Trump published a Truth Social post defending his pause on new Russia sanctions, and at least seven of his claims about Ukraine don’t survive contact with his own government’s intelligence. While Washington trades Russian diesel relief for a pause on Ukrainian refinery strikes, Putin is adding new Ukrainian territory to his demands and floating a Trump-Xi summit that leaves Kyiv out of the room. I fact-check the post claim by claim and break down what Putin actually bought with four and a half years of war.
UPDATE: After filming this video, the Wall Street Journal reported that Elon Musk was the one who throttled down Ukraine’s Starshield connection. Now, the questions are whether the Pentagon and Trump knew, or Musk acted alone? If Musk did act alone, did he break his SpaceX contract with the Pentagon?
