OSINT researchers have identified three technicians of the aviation engineering service of the Tu-160 air squadron of the heavy bomber aviation regiment of the Russian Federation who died at the air base in Engels .

We managed to verify the data of the dead in social networks and supplement the information with some data and photographs, writes Irakli Komakhidze, co-founder of InformNapalm, OSINT expert.

Among the dead:

Major Voronov Andrey Nikolaevich, born in 1976;

senior lieutenant Maksim Andreevich Anufrienko, born in 1989;

Senior Lieutenant Pampukhin Alexander Anatolyevich, born in 1989.

Explosions on “Engels” – what is known

The first explosions at the airfield in Engels thundered on the night of December 6th. Russia did not report any casualties, but photos of downed fighter jets leaked online.

On December 26, explosions at the “nuclear” air base thundered again. According to journalist Vladimir Zolkin, at least 5 Tu-95s were damaged ; 17 liquidated and 26 wounded invaders.

Officially, Moscow confirmed the death of three invaders .

A few days earlier, the Russians were training on the Engels to deliver new strikes against Ukraine. According to Oleksiy Arestovich, adviser to the OP, fresh “cotton” probably  prevented an air raid  on Ukrainian cities on the eve of the holidays.

Later, the Ukrainian Air Force noted that after the explosions, the invaders  dispersed the planes to other airfields  – away from the Ukrainian border.

The New York Times  writes that this could make it much more difficult for the Russians to carry out massive attacks on Ukrainian energy. Ukraine’s long-range strikes coincided with Russia’s drawdown  of cruise and tactical ballistic missile stockpiles .
