In Russia, people complained again about “cotton.” On the night of December 7, at least two powerful explosions were heard by residents of the city of Maykop in Adygea.
Smoke and flames were visible after them, Russian media reported.
The Russian independent publication ASTRA drew attention to footage from Maykop, filmed by the city’s residents.
“Maykop residents reported an explosion and are posting footage online of what is allegedly smoke in the Cheryomushki neighborhood. There is no official information,” the message states.
Another Russian publication, the Cheka-OGPU, has information about at least two explosions.
“Residents of Maikop report two powerful explosions, followed by smoke and flames. Earlier, UAVs tried to attack the Khansk military airfield. No air alert was issued today,” they said.
Some Russian propaganda publications also confirmed the “cotton”.
“Several explosions thundered over Maykop. Previously, air defense is currently operating over the Republic of Adygea. According to local residents, at least two powerful explosions were heard in the sky over the regional capital, near the local airfield. An air alert has not yet been declared in the region, there has been no official information yet,” one of them wrote at 02:14 Kyiv time.
But the Russian Defense Ministry did not mention Adygea in its morning “summary”. According to the occupiers, during the night, Russian air defense managed to shoot down four UAVs – over the Belgorod, Astrakhan, and Voronezh regions.

Local authorities at the time categorically denied the explosions at the ammunition depot on Khanskaya, as well as any other consequences of the attack, other than the fire, but evacuated the residents of the nearby village of Rodnikovo.
Meanwhile, Russian propagandists tried their best to convince that “Khanskaya” is the 72nd training airbase, which is the airfield of the Krasnodar Aviation School, and that there were no military combat vehicles there. However, Defense Express, having analyzed satellite images from ESA, came to the conclusion that the dimensions of the training aircraft do not match those that were actually at the airbase: at that time, 12 aircraft were recorded there, among which there could be combat vehicles of the Su-30, Su-34 and Su-35 types.
Later, the GUR and the SBU revealed how many Su-34s, Su-35s, and Mi-8s were hit at the airfield in Adygea. From there, they took off to attack Ukraine.
