On the morning of September 17, a series of explosions rocked the city of Donetsk, which is temporarily occupied by Russian forces.
Telegram channels, including Ukraine context | russia no context, are sharing photos and videos from the scene.
Eyewitnesses report that after at least five explosions in the Petrovskyi district of the city, thick smoke is rising.
It is currently unclear what caused the explosions or which object is burning as a result.

The Russian invaders have also not yet commented on the reports of explosions in the city.
As previously reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck the command posts of the Russian Center group of forces and the 41st Guards Combined Arms Army in the Donetsk region with missiles and drones.
The Ukrainian military confirmed the destruction of enemy personnel, including members of the command staff.
