At the Saki air base in the temporarily occupied Crimea, as a result of yesterday’s explosions, 9 aircraft were destroyed, and the airfield was put out of action.
Oleksandr Zavitnevich, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, wrote about this on Facebook .
“Minus 9 aircraft of the invaders, the airfield was disabled! Judging by the explosions, an aviation weapons depot was also hit at the Saki airbase in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The Russians mainly deployed Su-30SM multipurpose fighters and Su-24MR tactical reconnaissance aircraft at this base , military transport Il-76 and other aircraft,” the people’s deputy noted.
According to Zavitnevich, planes flew from Novofedorovka, which launched missile attacks on Ukraine, in particular, anti-radar missiles to suppress Ukrainian air defense.
“This airfield is one of the key airfields of the Crimean Peninsula for Russian aviation. Until 2014, it was the base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which we will definitely return,” he stressed.
