An OSINT analyst for the independent Russian publication ASTRA determined that the fire broke out in several places at once on the territory of JSC “Petersburg Oil Terminal”.
ASTRA also noted that Leningrad Oblast Governor Alexander Drozdenko thanked air defense forces for the “absence of destruction” while an oil terminal in St. Petersburg was on fire. According to the official, 72 drones were allegedly shot down in the region.

It is noteworthy that some time before this, he confirmed “the fall of debris in the area of the port of Vysotsk.” The attack on this port was also written about in Exilenova+

At the height of the attack over the Leningrad region, Russians saw drones.
They also “admired” the arrivals.
During the morning attack, Kronstadt, where Russian warships are moored, could also be hit.
Meanwhile, the fire at the terminal was growing worse.

“Petersburg Oil Terminal” is located in the southeast of St. Petersburg. It is one of the largest bulk cargo transshipment terminals in the Baltic region.
The terminal has 21 oil storage tanks, and the terminal’s total throughput capacity is 12.5 million tons per year.
The distance from the state border to the attacked terminal is over 1,000 km.
This terminal was already attacked by the Defense Forces on June 3 of this year. Then a massive fire also broke out on its territory.
After that attack, analyst Ihar Tyshkevych explained in a blog on OBOZ.UA why the attack on the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal was extremely important.
As OBOZ.UA reported, according to Reuters, Ukrainian attacks have shut down Russia’s second-largest gasoline production plant. It is Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez, or NORSI Refinery, in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. The plant ceased operations on July 2.
