The National Security and Defense Council noted that the Kazan Gunpowder Plant is one of the “backbones” of the Russian military-industrial complex.
In Kazan, Russia, explosions are heard from the territory of a gunpowder factory after a morning drone attack , the Russian Telegram channel ASTRA reports, citing local residents.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosions began at the moment of the UAV attack. At the same time, the enterprise announced planned tests, which allegedly will last until 4:00 p.m.
“Local authorities have introduced an emergency regime for government bodies and units of the Ministry of Emergencies,” the message says.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko, stated that the Kazan Gunpowder Plant is one of the “backbones” of the Russian military-industrial complex, without which mass production of ammunition would be impossible.
“There is a gunpowder plant in Kazan, which is one of the key enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, specializing in the production of explosives, rocket fuels and other components that are critical for the Russian army. This plant performs the function of providing the Russian armed forces with ammunition and materials necessary for the manufacture of missiles of various classes and purposes, including the Kalibr, Iskander and others,” he noted.
Drones attacked Kazan
As a reminder, on the morning of December 21, drones attacked the city of Kazan in Russia . The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the UAVs were used “in three waves from different directions.”
