At the site of the explosion in the train car in the Kiev region, all elements of the damaged rolling stock have already been completely removed, preparations are underway for laying new rails. This was reported on her Telegram channel by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the situation on the Boyarka-Vasilkov railway section in the Kyiv region is being monitored. Sviridenko added that the investigation into the causes of the incident is ongoing.

“The aftermath is being eliminated. The State Emergency Service and Ukrzaliznytsia are working together with people and equipment to quickly eliminate the aftermath and restore traffic by the evening peak period of passenger traffic. All elements of the damaged rolling stock have already been completely removed. Explosives experts have additionally checked the cleared areas,” the head of government said.

She reported that preparations are underway to lay new rails to replace the damaged ones.

Regarding the change in train traffic, Sviridenko reported that the train, which was directly at the site when the detonation began, was delayed for four hours, but as of now the delay has been reduced, so it is one hour.

In addition, the Prime Minister added, Ukrzaliznytsia has agreed on accelerated control with the State Border Service of Ukraine and the Polish Border Service in order to maintain connections.

“Currently, 28 trains are running on changed routes. Delays range from 1.5 to 3 hours, we are reducing them as much as possible. Follow the latest updates from Ukrzaliznytsia,” she wrote.

Sviridenko also noted that suburban train traffic to Fastiv was limited, but shuttle trains were launched on the Kyiv-Boyarka section to the nearest point. In addition, the Kiev Regional Military Administration provided additional bus services on these routes.

As UNIAN reported, on the night of September 14, as a result of an explosion in a train carriage, the railway infrastructure in the area of ​​the city of Boyarka was damaged. There were no casualties as a result of the explosion.

The Main Communications Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the night explosions in the Kiev region were caused by the detonation of ammunition on a train that was transporting military cargo.

Due to this situation, the movement on the railway tracks was stopped, and three carriages were uncoupled. Pyrotechnicians worked on the site.
