An emergency summit of representatives of the largest European countries took place in Warsaw today.

The largest European countries are ready to take on the support of Ukraine if the new US administration decides to stop aid . This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski following the summit in Warsaw, writes DoRzeczy .

Warsaw hosted a summit of foreign ministers from France, Germany, Italy and Poland on Tuesday, with their counterparts from the UK and Spain participating remotely. Kaja Kallas, the incoming EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, also took part in the talks.

Following the meeting, Polish Minister Sikorski reported on what they had agreed on. According to him, the participants agreed that Europe should take greater responsibility for its own security, including a more balanced distribution of defense spending in NATO.

“We have been thinking about the possibility of increasing support for Ukraine. In this context, I am grateful for the willingness of the largest EU countries to take on the burden of military and financial support for Ukraine in the context of a possible reduction in US involvement,” he added.
