‘Europe must not be vasall of the USA’, Macron showing his eurofascist attitude

‘Europe (his Empire) could die if it won’t arm itself’ Macron Bonaparte said in an Interview at the Sorbonne University.

‘Europe must show it is not a vasall of the United States’, the anti-American eurofascist said.

France did not support Ukraine very much, other than the United States, Scandinavia, the Baltic States and England.

  1. Putin will love his statement. Not that i’m opposed to Europe’s nations increasing their defense capabilities, but the ‘vasall’ statement is Kremlin talk!

    • I don’t think Putin will like this at all.

It is not anti-American, he means Europe should get its shit together militarily.

As we have seen over the past month: Ukraine cannot rely on the U.S. only.

I think indeed “vasall” is poorly chosen (I will see, maybe it is a mistranslation) but I think he means more like a protectorate.

I went to his speech when he was in the Hague and was saying similar things.

      • Like i said. I fully support the nations in Europe boosting their defense capabilities, but the ‘vasall’ statement was water on the mills of the Trumpist isolationists.

        • Yes. I am watching his speech now btw to improve my French.
Not to disprove your point, I am not there yet.

So far not anti-American yet and he wants to strengthen ties with the UK.

  2. In Europe, the Nordics, the Scandies (including of course the Balts) and the UK have punched at or near their weight in terms of Ukraine support. Only the Balts punch above their weight.
In terms of the Slavs, the Czechs and Poles are the best of an underwhelming bunch.
But when it comes to the Latins : Spain, Portugal, Romania, France and Italy, they are all piss-poor in terms of support. Is it because they were all fascist dictatorships within living memory? (In France’s case, there was a quisling quasi-state : Vichy France).
France’s contribution is negligible in relation to its status as a military and economic power.
Macron only recently abandoned his putler-groveling policy and suggested that he doesn’t rule out French ground troops. But there is no sign that he will act on this unfortunately.
Latin America is the same : Tankies and fascists seem to be the order of the day.
Argentina has a new leader who is bucking that trend, so we will see what happens there.

    • Uh, siorry, Scradge, but your praise of the UK is not totally supported by data. Please check the most recent report by the IfW, out today:
      https://www.ifw-kiel.de/topics/war-against-ukraine/ukraine-support-tracker
Especially regarding delivery of heavy weapons, the UK looks astonishingly weak, see Figure 6. Behind Spain and small Slovakia? That did surprise me, too. I don’t know if the latest package worth 500 millions was included, though. Probably not, sincecit had been annlunced, but not delivered yet. 🤔

      • Except that it is.

Until Scholz only very recently doubled German support, the UK was the second biggest Ukraine military supporting nation. It was the first to send tanks, first to send long range fires and its NLAWS helped Ukraine win the battle of Kyiv.

The UK is still the world’s third largest nation supporter:

£12.5 billion ($15.6 billion) so far and more to come.

        • Oops, you’re right, of course! Excuse me please for mixing that up, my fault entirely. Figure 6 in the pdf is about quality of data transparency instead. There the UK is lagging behind. No big deal, total transparency isn’t necessarily better. Some secrecy can’t hurt, Russians shouldn’t know everything.

  3. That’s got nothing to do with eurofascism, but is a self-evident truth that shouldn’t trigger any controversy. It has only become more relevant because the political deadlock in the US proved that Europe can’t always rely on the US as partner. So, the EU does need to become more independent, in order to be able to get along without the big brother in America, if necessary. The French have always put much emphasis on this (not only Le Général), maybe because of disappointment about US ungratefulness for French support in the independence war, but this still is no big deal. The US don’t want to be a vasal of Europe, neither, after all. ☝😎🇪🇺
