The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine instructed to determine special conditions for the transportation of additional volumes of natural gas by the gas transmission system of Ukraine to European countries in the amount of at least 55 billion cubic meters per year.
As a UNIAN correspondent reports, NSDC Secretary Aleksey Danilov said this at a briefing after today’s meeting of the Security Council.
He said that the NSDC instructed the government of Ukraine, Naftogaz Ukrainy and the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator to determine special conditions for the transportation of additional volumes of natural gas by the Ukrainian gas transportation system to European countries in the amount of at least 55 billion cubic meters per year.
“Today we have a contract with Gazprom for 40 billion cubic meters of gas and today we can offer an additional 55 billion cubic meters of gas in addition to this contract without any problems. This decision was made today,” he explained.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the transit of natural gas through the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS) in January-September 2021 decreased by 17% compared to the same period last year – to 32.6 billion cubic meters.
