May we always remember our Heroes, who came from all walks of life: career and volunteer soldiers, family men and women, professionals, artists, and wonderful people.
Let us honor their memory by keeping the Defenders of Ukraine in our thoughts and prayers.

RIP – Andrii Slavych (23yrs), Ruslan Danilevych, filmaker Ruslan Volodin, Yurii Kostelnyi (35yrs)

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
(John MacCrea)

Ukrainian diaspora rallies worldwide after Russia’s deadly July 8th missile barrage across Ukraine. 🇺🇦

The attacks killed over 40 people, injured more than 140, and struck Kyiv’s Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital with advanced Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, interrupting a child’s open-heart surgery and forcing young cancer patients to receive treatments outdoors.

In response, Ukrainian activists rapidly organized protests in Seattle, Chicago, New York, and other U.S. cities to raise awareness of Ukraine’s plight and condemn Russia’s targeting of civilians. Globally, rallies aimed to keep the war in the spotlight and counter the risk of the world forgetting about Ukraine.

“Russia is committing terrible atrocities in Ukraine, deliberately and precisely targeting hospitals in the heart of Europe, Kyiv. Yet, Western news remains silent about it!” said Seattle rally organizer Tetiana Novokhatska. “We are the voice of those fighting in Ukraine for democracy and freedom.”

  1. From Wiki :

“Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae (November 30, 1872 – January 28, 1918) was a Canadian poet, physician, author, artist and soldier during the World War I and a surgeon during the Second Battle of Ypres, in Belgium. He is best known for writing the famous war memorial poem “In Flanders Fields”. McCrae died of pneumonia near the end of the war. His famous poem is a threnody, a genre of lament.”

    His famous poem in full:

    In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead, short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

    –John McCrae
