The European Union will consider the possibility of imposing an oil embargo on Russia because of the Russian war against Ukraine.

The agency draws attention to the fact that Biden will visit Brussels this week to discuss tougher sanctions against the aggressor country with EU representatives.

The previous four rounds of sanctions against the Russian Federation have not changed the Kremlin’s course to end hostilities against Ukraine, which is forcing the West to take even more powerful steps against the Russians.

The White House has previously announced a new package of restrictions and said that the sanctions list will only grow if Moscow does not give up its predatory goals.

Earlier, the United States and Great Britain refused Russian oil, but the EU did not dare to take this step. At the same time, the European Commission has developed a plan to phase out oil, coal and gas from Russia until 2030.
