Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the scenario of the occupation of Ukraine by Russia far from reality.

In a conversation with journalists during a visit to Albania, the Turkish president noted that Ukraine is not an ordinary country, Ukraine is a strong state. “To take such a step, Moscow must analyze the situation in the world and within the country,” Erdogan said, Anadolu reports .

The Turkish President also said that he would discuss the situation in Ukraine with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who was on a visit to Kiev the day before.

“I will talk to Ilham Aliyev. Of course, it is important to discuss these issues with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin. Because these regions can no longer put up with war. This is wrong. It is time to completely remove the scenario of war from the political agenda,” he said. Erdogan.

The President of Turkey stressed that in the modern world, the desire to occupy foreign lands will not lead to what is desired. “For example, what steps did Russia take in Ukraine, in Crimea? It invaded Crimea. During every conversation with Putin, I declare that Turkey is against the occupation of Crimea. The Turkish Foreign Ministry conveys the same position to the Russian side. That is, Turkey’s position on this issue is clear,” Erdogan said.

“I am occupying someone’s lands, I will borrow them – such things are at odds with logic,” the Turkish leader said, hurriyet.com.tr reports .

As UNIAN reported, on December 8, 2021, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara, with the consent of the parties, is ready to contribute to reducing tensions between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, which may manifest itself in the form of mediation or in any other format.

Also in December, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba announced that Erdogan would visit Ukraine in early 2022.

    • The genocide on armenians… But for some reason there is always “Hush, hush!” about this.

  1. From the one who wish to rebuild the ottoman empire and not to mention his proxy war using so called refugees as a weapon. Remember his statement about how turks in Europe must get as much children possible to gain power over the future of Europe.
He is just as bad as Putin, he wish to expand and build an empire and this dream of theirs is very old.
There are good reasons to build walls, just saying.
