Erdogan Charged Putin Hefty Price

The President of Turkey pranked the Kremlin’s head at the talks with Zelensky in Lviv

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan actually played a prank on Russian President Vladimir Putin by meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky in Lviv. The Turkish leader pretended to convince Zelensky to agree to a peace deal.

Russian publicist Andrey Piontkovsky expressed this opinion on the air of the 24 Channel. According to him, Erdogan did not hide the fact that he plans to persuade the President of Ukraine to agree to a ceasefire, that is, to capitulate.

“Erdogan promised Putin to do what Macron, Draghi and Scholz could not do for him on June 16. As you know, the Ukrainians sent them after the Russian warship,” Piontkovsky said.

He added that the President of Turkey is a very smart person and politician. Erdogan was well aware that his persuasion would not work. However, he had to show the Russian dictator that he was somehow trying to fulfil his request.

At the same time, foreseeing the result of his attempt, Erdogan took a huge price from Putin, freedom of action in Nagorno-Karabakh and Syria.

“This demonstrates the level of desperation of the President of Russia if he agreed to pay such a price and betray the allies for an empty promise,” Piontkovsky said.

The Turkish leader pretended to convince Zelensky to agree to a peace deal.

“Erdogan did not try to persuade Zelensky to a peace deal, he was pretending. Zelensky and Erdogan were well aware of the game they were playing,” the political scientist believes.

  1. This little game exposes even more the true desperation that Putler finds himself in. He’s lost every touch with reality. He should’ve known that Zelensky will not and cannot agree to any ceasefire, especially now that UA forces are in the best position since this war started, even bringing the fight into Crimea!
Erdogan and Zelensky played a good game with the little rat.
Another aspect becomes conspicuous; the utter stupidity of Macron, Draghi and Scholz. They truly deserve the title, The Three Stooges.

    • I am not sure Draghi is a rat.
He was in a true snake’s pit: I don’t know whether his views were his own or he had to please the Five Star Movement and other Putin fanboys to get the sanctions done.

I am not telling you that your assessment is wrong, but mostly that Italian politics is so fucked up that you can barely know what he really thinks.

About the rest I am fully with you. I still don’t know if Erdogan is a genius or an idiot, as he single-handedly destroyed the Turkish economy, but also has a lot of strategic victories.

I am not sure if he is truly pro-Ukrainian, but I love that there is a least one guy that Putin cannot get his grasp on. Erdogan is probably one of the few presidents that cannot be fooled by him.

      • Erdogan reminds me a lot of Lukashenko before the latter fucked up his election bid and sold his soul to the ruskie devil to keep in power. He too used to play all sorts of games with the Kremlin runt.
Draghi came personally to Ukraine – Bucha et al – and saw for himself what crimes were committed, yet he couldn’t get himself to give Ukraine another grain of support. Maybe you’re right about Italian politics, but couldn’t he do more, being in his position, or is being the president like Germany’s and only a post to help keep the chair warm and to cash in the bucks?
