Envoy: US Deliberately Silent on Kiev Forces’ Shelling of Bucha After Russian Pullout

The United States is deliberately hushing up the fact that after the withdrawal of Russian troops, Ukrainian forces subjected the city of Bucha to artillery fire, which could have led to losses among the civilian population, Antonov said in an interview with Newsweek.

The ambassador added that it is obvious that the Kiev regime is attempting to shift the blame for all of its wrongdoings on Russia, while the Russian troops provided nothing but support to the people of Bucha, having delivered over 450 tonnes of humanitarian aid to local residents.

None of the civilians were injured while Bucha was under the control of the Russian forces, Antonov emphasized.

The Kiev authorities and the media have been spreading video footage, allegedly from the Ukrainian town of Bucha near Kiev, with the bodies of allegedly dead people lying along the road.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that all photos and videos allegedly evidencing the Russian troops’ crimes in Bucha are yet another provocation, since Russian units completely withdrew from the town as early as March 30.

Numerous viewers have pointed out that “dead” people in these videos are not still and can be seen moving and even getting up once the camera man’s vehicle passes them.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Sunday that the crimes committed by Ukrainian radicals in Bucha are meant to escalate violence and disrupt the Russia-Ukraine peace negotiations.

  1. This Antonov vermin needs to make his mind up. First he claims Ukraine fired on their own citizens after the vermin left, then he claims Ukraine staged all this with actors. Through my contact in Ukraine who lives very close to Bucha, after the scum had retreated not a shot was fired from that day till this, which was Thursday last week. Once the internet is restored in the Bucha/Irpin area, I expect even more evidence of war crimes committed by these subhumans.

  2. It only hurts Ukraine’s situation for self-defense if they “attack” their own people, especially for civilians. I expect the Bucha massacre was because of Russian commanders there, feeling angry about their invasion being thwarted, and taking it out on the people who couldn’t get out. Perhaps they also thought that this could break the willingness of Ukrainian resistance as well, but I think it’s only made Ukrainians and most of the world’s public as well, angrier against Russia.

    • I was in the middle of all this for 3 weeks. The Ukrainian forces around Bucha and Irpin pulled back after this large convoy appeared. The only guns firing were the Russian ones, no returning fire came from Ukraine for two weeks. So what were the Russians shooting at besides civilian settlements?

    • That’s from an Iranian paper. Antonov is the Russian Ambassador to the US. I have no idea why Russia still has an embassy in the US. It should have been reduced to a consulate at best, and should be entirely closed down now.
