Power engineers will do everything possible to ensure that the capital and the Kyiv region are with light on New Year’s Eve.

In Kiev and the Kiev region, emergency power outages introduced against the backdrop of today’s Russian missile strikes are canceled, DTEK reported on Telegram .

“Kyiv and Kyiv region: emergency shutdowns are canceled! Let’s return to our morning wishes for the holidays. Power engineers will do everything possible to ensure that the capital and Kyiv region have electricity on New Year’s Eve if there are no enemy attacks,” the message says.

As UNIAN reported earlier, emergency blackouts were applied in Kyiv and Kyiv, Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk regions today. This was a preventive step to avoid significant damage to the energy infrastructure.

On New Year’s Eve, Russian terrorists staged another  air attack on Ukraine . Fortunately, air defense forces worked in all cities.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine intercepted 12 of more than 20 cruise missiles,   General Valery Zaluzhny said . The Russian army launched missiles from Tu-95 strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea and ground-based missile systems.

At the same time, some Russian rockets damaged residential buildings and infrastructure facilities  in the capital and Nikolayev . The exact number of dead and wounded is being established. It is already known about dozens of victims.

In Kiev, due to  emergency shutdowns  without electricity, 30% of consumers.

The day before, President Volodymyr  Zelensky repeatedly emphasized that Russia is trying to deliberately plunge Ukrainians into darkness on New Year’s holidays.

Russia also delivered  massive strikes on December 29 . However, thanks to the efforts of air defense, the invaders  failed to arrange  a new long-term blackout for the Ukrainians.
