
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina, having defeated Czech Nikola Bartunkova in the round of 16, has reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Rome, UNN reports.

The first set, which lasted 30 minutes, ended in Svitolina’s favor – 6:2. The tennis players started the first set by exchanging games, with both athletes managing to convert a break point. At a score of 2:2, Svitolina made a surge and finished the set with a score of 6:2.
The second set, which lasted almost an hour, also ended in Svitolina’s favor – 6:3. The players continued the match until the score reached 3:3. Notably, in all six games, Svitolina and Bartunkova converted break points. After that, Svitolina seized the initiative and ultimately ended the match with a victory – 6:3.
Ultimately, Svitolina managed to break through to the 1/4 finals of the tournament, where she will meet the winner of the pair Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) – Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan).
