AMSTERDAM – The prime minister in the Netherlands has offered reassurances amid the global coronavirus outbreak: telling citizens on Thursday there is no shortage of toilet paper.
“Yes, I have enough,” Mark Rutte told a shopper in an informal exchange while visiting a supermarket to show support for workers. “They have it (on shelves) again.”
“But there’s enough in the whole country for the coming 10 years,” he said. “We can all poop for 10 years.”
Dutch supermarkets shelves have mostly refilled following a stockpiling episode last week.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
It’s the same problem here in Sweden, it’s empty in the shelves for toilet paper, spaghetti, egg, all that is dry or canned products. We try to live as normal, but avoiding near contact with other people. May all of you stay safe!
The shelves in our supermarkets are all full, except for buckwheat, and the only people eating that crap are the idiots who watch Russian TV.
I really can’t understand why they are hoarding goods as if it were going to be the world of destruction, idiots!
I should have been on a trip to Norway, but then I must stay 14 days in quarantine there. Alina isn’t allowed at all to cross the border.
The media is causing a lot of this chaos. There is nothing else to report on, so they are fighting amongst themselves for the most sensational headlines.
Yep. There was a mini-scandal yesterday because a journalist made up a story that someone in the Trump administration referred to the virus as the Kung Flu. Turns out that wannabe journalist couldn’t name the source…lol
Hey! I eat Buckwheat and I don’t watch Russian TV, lmao! You just need the right recipes. Buckwheat with ground pork or chicken is great. Also you can make borshcht with buckwheat. Come on over Foccusser, we’ll change your mind about Buckwheat…:))
Buckwheat needs something to flavour it. Without that it’s just chicken feed. 😂
Hahaha, ok you got me there. It is packed with vitamins though, especially iron which is a nice alternative to fish or meat. It’s traditional Sir Foccusser! You know, when in Rome…….;))
Salo is traditional in Ukraine too and I won’t eat that. 😀
There, we agree ;))
This quote runs Rutte’s a close second I think.
“— Russia’s central bank announced more details on its measures to stop the collapse of the currency, stepping up its sales of foreign currencies — the logic being higher demand for rubles can keep its value up.” LMAO
What is so strange about that? That is what central banks do, right? I think Russia is just burning money, and there is no way they can stop the ruble from collapsing.
Would you invest in rubles?
No, of course I wouldn’t. I don’t buy anything Russian.
But I think they try to sell all currency they have to buy their own rubles.
— While Russian energy companies have “once again” been saved by interventions from the Russian government, producers are not out of the woods yet, VTB Capital said in its Friday morning research note. “The formidable $123 billion loss in annual oil revenues is shared between numerous parties: the budget, crude producers, refineries, customers and even the population. However, the loss is heavy and, although ring-fenced and supported, the Russian oil industry is likely to face challenging times ahead.”
MOSCOW TIMES
Well, the next time anything like this happens again, I will immediately buy all the toilet paper stocks that I can get a hold of.
Next time you are in Lviv, stock up on Putin toilet paper.
Why hoarding toilet paper? https://time.com/5803273/hoarding-toilet-paper/
