Vladimir Putin, speaking at the Victory Day parade on Red Square, which took place without military equipment and amid a Moscow internet blackout due to the threat of drone attacks, declared the Russian army “advancing” in Ukraine and accused NATO countries of supporting an “aggressive force.”  “The great feat of the generation of victors inspires the soldiers carrying out special military operations today. They are confronting an aggressive force that is armed and supported by the entire NATO bloc. And despite this, our heroes are moving forward,” Putin said during the ceremony, which lasted just  45 minutes.

He also emphasized the role of the rear, stating that “workers and designers, engineers, scientists, and inventors” are working to support the Russian military, who, he said, “create cutting-edge, unique weapons and launch their mass production.” Putin also noted that “no matter how technology and combat methods change, the most important thing remains unchanged: the fate of the country is determined by people.”

“Soldiers and factory workers, rural workers, gunsmiths and war correspondents, doctors and teachers, cultural figures and clergy, volunteers, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, all citizens of Russia! The key to success is our moral strength, courage, and valor. Our unity and ability to endure anything, to overcome any challenge. We have a common goal. Each person makes a personal contribution to victory. It is forged both on the battlefield and in the rear. I firmly believe that our cause is just,” he said.

Concluding his speech, Putin delivered the traditional congratulatory address: “Glory to the victorious people! Glory to the veterans! Glory to the Russian Armed Forces! Happy holiday to you! Happy Victory Day! Hooray!”

  1. Not seeing strikes accompanying the stupid parade was a big disappointment, especially when the rat lied again, and there will be no prisoner swap.

This parade is the highlight of mafia land. There is no other to compare it with. It’s THE event of the year, every year. The way it was carried out highlights the obvious, that the stupid parade was a very sorry-assed circus show. It was a deep embarrassment, you can believe that. Every nation on Earth is seeing it as a sign of weakness and even near-defeat. It’s hard to guess which scenario would’ve been worse; having this one or just cancelling it.
