Officially, Russian authorities are keeping silent about the fact that oil facilities were hit, although company representatives confirm the information.

On the night of Monday, February 17, explosions thundered in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation . Russian Telegram channels reported a drone attack and a fire at the Ilsky oil refinery.

As reported by Shot , the wreckage of one of the drones allegedly fell near the village of Severskaya, not far from the oil refinery, causing a fire. However, Mash writes that explosions were heard in the Kavkazsky District and Slavyansk-na-Kubani.

The region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, confirmed the drone attack, noting that their debris allegedly damaged 12 residential buildings. However, he kept silent about a possible attack on an oil refinery and reports of a fire.

The attack damaged not only the Ilyinsky Oil Refinery. According to the Astra channel , the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in Krasnodar Krai was taken out of service after the UAV attack.

“On February 17, 2025, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium’s oil transportation facility, the Kropotkinskaya NPS, was attacked by a UAV. The terrorist attack was carried out by seven unmanned aerial vehicles filled with, in addition to explosives, metal striking elements. The attack was carried out with a time interval, with the aim of not only disrupting the operation of the facility, but also causing casualties among the station’s operational personnel. There were no casualties among the NPS personnel,” the company said.

It is also noted that the workers allegedly managed to prevent the threat of an oil spill. Now the NPS “Kropotkinskaya” is decommissioned. Oil is transported through the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system at reduced pumping rates, bypassing the NPS.

The Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, located in the Kavkazsky district of Kuban, is the largest CPC oil pumping station in the Russian Federation.
