Ukrainian Defense Forces strike drones successfully hit the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in the city of Yaroslavl.
The local Telegram channel “Radar Yaroslavl” reported the attack.
The strike took place on the night of April 25–26, 2026. Drones struck facilities within the refinery, including a vacuum distillation unit, sparking a large fire.
Local residents reported hearing dozens of explosions in the sky, along with bright flashes, suggesting Russian air defense systems were attempting to intercept the drones.
As of 8:00 a.m., Mikhail Evraev, governor of the Yaroslavl region, had not confirmed the drone strike on his Telegram page, despite a strong glow from the refinery fire being visible across the city.
The fire at the oil facility is also confirmed by NASA’s FIRMS monitoring service, whose sensors recorded abnormally high temperatures at the refinery site at 1:27 a.m.
Notably, on March 28, 2026, drones struck the plant’s facilities, triggering a major fire.

The Slavneft-YANOS refinery is located in Yaroslavl, more than 700 km from Ukraine’s border (coordinates: 57.55016, 39.79176).
The plant produces a wide range of petroleum products, including gasoline, jet fuel, and lubricants.
Its customers include major companies across Russia’s Central and Northwestern regions, as well as airports, the Northern Railway administration, and military industry facilities.
The refinery has a processing capacity of up to 15 million tons of oil per year. By primary processing volume, it ranks fifth among Russia’s oil refineries.
Militarnyi previously reported that the oil refinery in Yaroslavl was also successfully attacked on December 12, 2025.

I always enjoy seeing Ukrainian-type sanctions in action.
