In Russia, drones attacked an oil refinery in Saratov and a military airfield in nearby Engels on the night of February 11. Fires broke out at both facilities, which the aggressor is using in the war against Ukraine.
Footage of the “cotton” was posted online by residents of these cities. They claimed there were clear flights, but the authorities of the Saratov region of the Russian Federation insist that “everything was shot down” and that an “industrial enterprise” was allegedly damaged.
In particular, in Saratov, Russians spent the whole night filming videos of explosions and a fire that broke out near an oil refinery.
The regional governor claimed that “the UAV was eliminated by air defense forces.” He confirmed only damage “at an industrial enterprise,” emphasizing the absence of casualties.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Lieutenant Andriy Kovalenko, commented on this “cotton”, recalling that this is not the first time that the Saratov Oil Refinery has been the target of an attack.

“This is one of the key facilities of the Russian fuel infrastructure. Its processing capacity reaches 7 million tons of oil per year. The plant plays an important role in providing the Russian army with fuel. Even during World War II, it was critical for military logistics, and today it remains an important element of fuel supply,” he explained.
He also emphasized that in addition to this refinery, the aggressor’s military infrastructure facilities in Engels, located on the opposite bank of the Volga from Saratov, were also attacked at night.
Russian social media outlets have published a series of footage of explosions and flares at a military airfield. From this base, Russian strategic bombers regularly launch cruise missile strikes on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure, and just this night, Ukrainian monitoring channels reported that a group of such bombers was in the air , so in the morning they warned of a possible missile attack.

As OBOZ.UA reported, on the night of February 5, Ukrainian drones attacked the Albashneft oil depot in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. As a result of the explosions, significant damage was recorded on the territory of the enemy facility.
