Drones attacked a university in Belgorod, Russia, where UAVs were being developed

On the night of August 3, a university in Belgorod, where Russians were developing and testing UAVs, came under attack by drones.

This  is reported  by Russian media.   

A large-scale fire broke out at the Belgorod State Technological University after a nighttime attack, according to released footage. 

The BSTU designed an automated UAV control system based on the Russian “Milandr” microprocessor. The university noted that the development allegedly has civilian applications and is intended for monitoring power lines, heating mains, and aerial photography.

In the summer of 2026, BSTU announced the recruitment of students for summer shifts in the drone development course.

  • On July 3, as a result of a missile attack on the CHP in Belgorod, users were left  without electricity and water supply.
