On the night of May 13, Ukrainian drones attacked Taman, Krasnodar Territory.
The target of the strike was a seaport that transshipments various cargoes for export.
A large-scale fire broke out in the port after the attack, according to the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+.
Attack details
According to preliminary information, Ukrainian drones hit a seaport near the settlement of Volna, which is located a few kilometers from Taman.
Eyewitnesses posted a video of a fire in the port after the attack online. Local authorities also confirmed the attack and the fire. According to the Krasnodar Territory Operations Headquarters, “destroyed UAVs fell on the territory of one of the enterprises in the village of Volna, Temryutsky District.”

Russian officials confirmed that equipment caught fire at the enterprise. Emergency services and special services are working at the scene.
“In the village of Volna, Temryutsky District, a fire is continuing to be extinguished on the territory of one of the enterprises. 96 people and 29 pieces of equipment are involved, including employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory,” local authorities said.
The mapping platform Fire Information for Resource Management System recorded a fire near the seaport as of the morning of May 13. In particular, the fire started in the area where fuel tanks are located.

What is known about the port in Taman?
The port of Taman is one of the key logistics hubs in the south of the russian Federation. Its influence on the military-industrial complex and the army is determined both by its geographical location and the specifics of the cargo handled.
Taman is located in close proximity to occupied Crimea, making the port a crucial link in the supply chain for Putin’s army in the war against Ukraine.
One of Taman’s main specializations is the transshipment of petroleum products and liquefied gas. The port’s terminals are directly involved in providing fuel to the Black Sea Fleet and land units operating in the southern direction.
The port remains critically important for Russian energy exports. Revenues from these activities are a major source of funding for defense programs and arms purchases.

As a reminder, propagandist Vladimir Solovyov criticized the work of the Russian air defense system. He stated that Ukraine was able to organize an effective system for tracking air threats, while Russia still cannot establish proper protection.
As OBOZ.UA reported, the commander of the SBS of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert “Magyar” Brovdy, noted that it is beneficial for the Defense Forces to strike where Russian air defense is much weaker . It is impractical to spend drones on the “great wall”, that is, on Moscow, which is protected by a large number of equipment.

Is this a spin on the drone debris excuse?
I certainly seems so.
