In the Ivanovo region of the Russian Federation, drones attacked the Dmitrievsky chemical plant on the night of May 26. Several explosions were heard above it, followed by smoke.
This Russian enterprise is located in the city of Kineshma and “inadvertently” suffered a large-scale fire in 2022. This time, local authorities claim that it was caused by debris falling onto a packaging warehouse.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to attack a large chemical plant in the Ivanovo region with drones. Local residents heard at least two explosions in the area of the plant. The video shows the moment the drone fell in Kineshma,” Russian propagandists reported.
Prior to this, the regional operational headquarters declared a “UAV attack danger regime” and activated the so-called attack warning system.
Later, they announced that the UAV attack in Kineshma had been “repelled”: “falling debris” from drones and damage to an outbuilding for storing packaging were recorded in the industrial zone.
It should be noted that the Dmitrievsky Chemical Plant is considered one of the largest producers of butyl acetate and industrial solvents in Russia. On April 21, 2022, a large-scale fire occurred on its territory, during which the fire damaged the workshop building on an area of 1.5 thousand sq. m, a metal hangar collapsed there and workers were injured. RosZMI, citing local authorities, claimed that the cause of the emergency was “carelessness when pouring acetone into a plastic container.” At the same time, numerous publications noted that the fire broke out on the same day as the mysterious fire at the Central Research Institute of Military Space Defense of Russia in Tver.
As OBOZ.UA reported, on May 25, the Russian Federation announced a UAV attack on the Migalovo military airfield and a nearby military unit in Tver. After a series of explosions, the Russians observed a large fire in the area.
