Drones Attack Ufa Industrial Zone Housing an Oil Refinery

Ukrainian Defense Forces strike drones attacked an industrial zone in the city of Ufa.

Supernova+ has published photos showing smoke rising from the area.

The attack took place on the morning of September 21, 2026, after a drone alert was issued there at 5:30 a.m.

At 7:19 a.m., Russian monitoring channels reported that about 10 drones had been shot down near Ufa.

Ukrainian strikes have previously targeted Ufa. In March 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a strike on a fuel and energy infrastructure facility.

This was the first attack on the facility. The plant itself is located approximately 1,400 km from Ukraine’s state border.

The second strike occurred on August 1. Attack drones targeted the Ufaneftekhim refinery, sparking a fire at the facility.

Ufaneftekhim is the largest, most modern, and technologically most complex oil refinery within Bashneft’s Ufa Oil Refining Facility. It is located in the northern industrial zone of Ufa.

The facility has a refining capacity of more than 9.5 million tonnes of crude oil per year. Its oil refining depth exceeds 95%, making it one of the highest rates in Russia.

The plant’s facilities include hydrocracking, delayed coking, catalytic cracking, and reforming units.

Ufaneftekhim produces high-octane automotive gasoline, various grades of diesel fuel, and jet fuel. The company also produces petroleum coke, liquefied gases, and aromatic hydrocarbons for the neighboring Ufaorgsintez plant.

Militarnyi previously reported that Ukrainian strike drones and cruise missiles successfully attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery.
