Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed at approximately 4:41 PM that a drone en route to the capital had been shot down in the Russian Defense Ministry’s air defense zone. Subsequently, at 8:49 PM, he reported that another UAV had been shot down, also heading toward Moscow.

The publication reported that local residents heard explosions not only in the Moscow region, but also in the Russian capital itself.

In the area of ​​Kommunarka, part of Moscow, smoke could be seen in the sky after the explosions, as evidenced by witness photos. The publication reported that the smoke was visible near a forested area.
